Every pirate ship in fiction wants to look like this one: black hull, tall masts, and the general attitude of a vessel that has never paid a docking fee.

This laser-cut MDF kit builds a 17.6" display model of the Black Pearl. The parts come pre-cut on flat sheets, so there’s no sawing, carving, or planking. You press out the pieces and slot them together in layers until a flat stack of MDF becomes a three-dimensional ship. It’s an evening or two of focused, pleasant work, and the result looks considerably more complicated than it was to build.

A full step-by-step PDF guide is included. You will not need to guess which piece is the mizzenmast. Probably.

It makes a good first project for someone curious about ship modeling who isn’t ready to commit to a planked hull and six months of rigging. It’s also a good desk piece for experienced modelers who want something finished by the weekend.
