What we know about the exploits of Black Beard, the ill-famed pirate, is a mix of history, legend and fiction. Edward Teach, purportedly his real name, boarded and plundered an enormous number of ships, which made him the infamous ‘Terror of the Seas’, even though this adventurous life of his lasted only twenty months. He was such a terrifying person that his victims were paralyzed with fear and surrendered immediately upon seeing him.
Note on Wood Types and Finishes

Basswood offers excellent workability and is ideal for shaping, sanding, and finishing. In the original Mamoli designs, many of the European woods were later stained, conditioned, or painted with solid colors, making Basswood a suitable and reliable substitute.
