Around the middle of the decade, the famous manufacturer BMW created a special series of the famous R80 GS motorcycle dedicated to the prestigious off-road competition. Starting from the chassis of the road version, recognized by the market for its solidity, sturdiness and reliability, the Munich-based manufacturer made several modifications and improvements. In addition to the adoption of technical solutions that increased the off-road and endurance vocation such as knobby tires, reinforcement bars, dedicated protections, the most characterizing element was the large 32-liter oversized tank developed specifically for the special version. Great attention is also paid to the graphic impact with the application of the famous BMW Motorsport livery with the three colors of blue, purple, and red.
