The Gun Motor Carriage M6 was created by modifying the famous Dodge WC52 4x4 with the application, on the rear body, of a 37 mm light anti-tank gun. The 99hp Dodge T-214 6-cylinder engine could make the M6 ??reach speeds of nearly 90km / h on the road. It was employed by the American army from the end of 1942 and saw its participation in all operational theaters of the Second World War such as the Mediterranean, the European front and the Pacific. The GMC M6 was set up and developed as an anti-tank vehicle but, from its first operational use in Tunisia, its light gun was often ineffective against the protections of more recent German tanks. Its role was therefore partially modified and was used as an infantry support vehicle.
