Designed for model builders and aviation enthusiasts, this 1:72 scale kit combines authentic aircraft features, a full weapons loadout, and the essential accessories needed to complete your model.

The F/A-18F Super Hornet – A Modern Naval Aviation Icon

Developed by McDonnell Douglas, now part of Boeing, the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet was designed to meet the evolving operational requirements of the United States Navy. Entering service in 1999, the Super Hornet became a central component of modern carrier-based aviation, combining fighter and strike capabilities in a single aircraft.

The F/A-18F is the two-seat version of the Super Hornet. In addition to the pilot, it accommodates a weapons systems officer in the rear cockpit. This crew member assists with navigation, tactical systems, and weapons employment, helping the aircraft perform complex missions in demanding operational environments.

Compared with the earlier F/A-18 Hornet, the Super Hornet features a larger airframe, redesigned wings and tail surfaces, modified engine intakes, and additional provisions for carrying fuel and weapons. These improvements expanded its operational capabilities and helped establish the aircraft as a key element of United States Navy air power.

Detailed 1:72 Scale Model

This Revell kit reproduces the distinctive shape of the F/A-18F Super Hornet, from its twin-seat cockpit and twin-engine configuration to its angular air intakes and characteristic twin vertical stabilizers. Its detailed components allow modelers to recreate the appearance of this modern carrier-based combat aircraft.

The cockpit features two crew positions, reflecting the F/A-18F’s distinctive tandem seating arrangement. The kit also includes a comprehensive selection of weapons and external stores, allowing the finished model to display the aircraft in a fully equipped combat configuration.

With 97 individual parts, this model offers an engaging assembly experience for enthusiasts who want to add a modern military aircraft to their collection.

Authentic Markings and Squadron Options

The kit includes decals for two authentic United States Navy aircraft schemes, giving builders a choice between two recognizable naval aviation units:

• F/A-18F Super Hornet VFA-103 “Jolly Rogers” – aircraft “200,” featuring the squadron’s CAG scheme from 2011–2012 at NAS Oceana, Virginia, USA.

• F/A-18F Super Hornet VFA-11 “Red Rippers” – aircraft “106,” also associated with NAS Oceana, Virginia, USA.

These markings provide two distinct finishing options, allowing modelers to personalize their build while representing the aircraft’s operational and squadron identity.
